Damn you! That's for my brother who has gotten me into this. I love you man. So I guess this is the first.
About the name. I am a letter carrier for the Englewood, Colorado post office. Please don't hold that against me. I have not gone postal, yet. I will have been with the PO 21 years this coming February and with the over 5 years I spent in the U. S. Air Force, I figure that in about 3-5 years I'll go do something fun, like sleep late in the morning. I do love my job, out on the street where I get to meet and greet some really fascinating people. That's what keeps me going. Just get me out of that office. Those people WILL drive you nuts. As time goes on I'll try and give you some insight to the job and some stories about interactions with my customers. Sounds boring as hell doesn't it?
Now to the hoppy. I am a homebrewer. I've been at it now for about 12 years. The hops are what gives beer that great aroma and that bitterness you taste on the back of your tonge. I do like hops. In the beer circle, I am called a Hop Head. I enjoy just about all styles of beer, but if I had to choose a favorite, I'd say a good India Pale Ale or IPA. It's a strong ale brewed in Great Britain that was originally brewed for the purpose of providing their troops with a good ale when they occupied India. The hops helped to keep the beer fresher tasting after making it's journey by ship around the Cape of Good Hope to India. It is a fun hobby and as my bride likes to say, it keeps me off the streets at night. So since it takes about 5 hours to make a 6 1/2 gal. batch of beer with a lot of time in between to do other things, I figure that would be as good a time as any to blog away.
One other thing that I did not mention and that I did not put in my title is that I'm a huge Red Sox fan. Since Yaz was a rookie in 1961 I have been a loyal fan. I still can't talk about 1986 (Don't blame Bill Buckner, if Calvin Sharaldi hadn't walked two batters...), but 2004 took care of all that. This year I'm back to rooting for any team that plays the Yankees.
Well that's a start. Thanks for reading and ya'll come back now, you hear?
Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer. Dave Barry

Well, I thought I would come up with my own name based on the dynamics of yours. I love wine and I'm a Type A Analyst.
I think this Blog thing is great, but I wouldn't have the time or creativity to keep up with it. You're awesome. Keep reminding me to check back.
Sorry about the Red Sox v White Sox outcome. Being a Cubs fan, I am happy to have some Baseball in the Chi-town in October, but still waiting for our Total Eclipse.
Love you and your wife!

So now both of my favorite uncles are blogging. Who'd have thunk it? They both have their own unique style, and they are equally awesome. Keep them coming. Reading them reminds me of the young girl I was, growing up with and being influenced by 2 of the finest men you could ever know. GREAT memories! I love you!
